In the Torrente Ballester center and in the streets of some of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city, yesterday they were the workspace of some special urban planners and architects, the children.
“Torrente Ballester Cultural Center welcomes from this Monday until next Friday the workshops of “A vila do mañá“, an initiative that arose in 2016 from a group of female architects and was recognized at the International Biennial of Education in Architecture.”
La Opinión A Coruña 31/08/2018 “The organizers of this activity explain that in this way “a residual surface is invaded“ and they also point out that as long as the seeds do not germinate, the wall is full of colour due to the geotextile envelopes. The workshop proposes the temporary transformation of various public spaces in Arteixo.“
La Opinión A Coruña 29/08/2018 “More than fifty children from Arteixo take part in an architecture, urban planning and landscape workshop for children, in which the organizers try to draw attention to the cities that have been built in recent years. Sandra González, who is, along with her PØSTarquitectos team, one of those in charge of putting it into operation, says that one of the goals of this activity is to “generate identity“ among the little ones. In the workshop, children explain their vision of the municipality and draw the most outstanding elements for them: the Burger King, the sports centre, a supermarket and the park, according to González. They also propose how the locality should be.”

The Feniñans square is the setting this week for the activities of the “A Vila do Mañá” project. Led by a group of architects, it seeks to develop urban spaces for the enjoyment of pedestrians, exploring the ideas of design professionals with the concerns of a group of 250 children.
La Voz de Galicia 22/08/2018 “What better way to learn and appreciate the heritage and architecture of the town rather than playing. The program “A vila do mañá“ is applying it. Yesterday it was in Fefiñáns and today, in A Pastora.”
Faro de Vigo 22/08/2018 “The aim of the project is to redefine society’s relationship with urban public spaces, which are often closed and even dangerous for pedestrians. The initiative has international awards, and in Galicia it is sponsored by the Association for the Defense of Cultural Heritage of Galicia, whose vice president Javier Montero, Cambados‘ native. “These activities interest us a lot because one of our open fronts is education about the territory, architecture, landscape and heritage“.”
La Voz de Galicia 21/08/2018 “Ferrol City Council opens today the registration period for a workshop to children from 3 to 12 years old that aims to involve minors in the construction of the common space in which they move. The initiative will run from September 3 to 7 and includes proposals related to architecture, urban planning and landscape.”
Diario de Ferrol 21/08/2018 “[…] Working with concepts related to the perception of the city in which you live, the habitat, place and urban situations, the analysis of the horizontal plane as a shaping element of space, the types of colours and textures of the pavement used in squares or streets, reflections on the landscape, the horizon, the line of the sky, or the two and three-dimensional elements as well as the human proportion within the city”
Galicia Ártabra 20/08/2018 “Ferrol councilors, María Fernández Lemos, Álvaro Montes and Suso Basterrechea presented an educational project this Monday morning during a press conference, which they called “a very beautiful project, ‘A vila do mañá‘, with which we want to start the month of September, the month of Mobility in our city, with a workshop for small people, children and adolescents, focused on architecture, urban planning and the landscape that will take place from 3 to September 7, both included”.“
