The streets of the Ourense town of Barbadás are filled these days with children clad in huge floats. But they are not going to the pool, but rather they intend to show how unprepared our cities are to maintain social distance.

THE COUNCIL HOSTS AN INITIATIVE THAT REIMAGINES PUBLIC SPACE

 

 

Ourense architect Sandra González Álvarez is the promoter of the itinerant project “A Vila do Mañá”. The architect explains “boys and girls have the right to be protagonists of their environment” and she claims another model of city.

In Trasdeza, the A vila do mañá program started, although inclement weather affected the activities of some groups. They will work on the development of a plant wall and an orchard in Juan Salgueiro square, along with other outdoor initiatives in different streets of Silleda, to bring the territory closer to the little ones.
